    An exciting Career-Development opportunity has been created for 2 additional Litigation Executives with actual commercial legal experience to join a reputable and highly regarded legal services firm, within their specialist Employment Legal Team based out of my client’s modern offices in Manchester city centre.

     

    With continued business growth, and demand for their services, my client prides itself in providing expertise legal guidance to businesses right across the UK, and has a prestigious portfolio of clients it supports.

     

    As a Litigation Executive within the Employment Legal Team, your role is to assist clients with Early Conciliation and Tribunal matters by assuming conduct, from advising on merits of a case, drafting responses to exchanging witness statements as well as completing telephone preliminary hearings.

     

     

    The Person

     

    We are looking for bright, confident, legally-qualified individuals, with either Litigation and / or Employment Law experience to work in a dynamic team, and cover all aspects of case preparation.

     

    The ideal candidates will relish assuming responsibility for a caseload in a fast-paced but supportive team environment.

     

    The focus is on great client service, along with a firm commercial approach, and we are looking for people with excellent communication skills to provide that.

     

    Responsibilities

     

    To include but not limited to:

     

    ·       Reviewing Tribunal and Early Conciliation matters including complex open track  matters

    ·       Drafting of responses, witness statements and relevant applications

    ·       Dealing with all aspects of document disclosure and creation of bundles

    ·       Liaising with Tribunals, Claimants’ representatives and clients

    ·       Discussing merits of a case and achieving commercially favourable settlements

    ·       Working alongside and supporting corporate clients as a dedicated Litigation Executive

    ·       Conducting preliminary hearings by telephone

     

     

     

     

    Personal attributes / skills

     

     

    ·       Law degree (or GDL) plus good experience and/or a professional qualification (LPC / BPTC).

    ·       A real commitment to helping our clients through a difficult time.

    ·       A positive approach to a busy workload and team work.

    ·       A genuine passion for employment law and attention to detail.

    The Role

     

    As a Solicitor within this Law Firm’s HR and Employment Advisory Team, your role requires you to work in a team providing legally compliant advice to clients by telephone and email in all aspects of HR and Employment Law, in order to support the business needs of the individual clients, whilst highlighting any options that are non-compliant and the risk this presents.

     

    The position focuses on proactively undertaking cases involving Settlement Agreements, Commercial Queries, and Data Protection. In addition you will assist with other teams across the business including the High Risk Complex case Team, and High Risk Absence Management.

     

    The Person

     

    Ideally applicants will have some commercial experience of HR and Employment Law, HOWEVER, my client is prepared to look at candidates who genuinely wish to cross-train into and develop a legal career within HR / Employment Law.

     

    The key attributes for the successful individual would be excellent communication and negotiation skills, legal drafting, all gained as a qualified solicitor, from within a busy legal department / law firm.

     

    A “can-do” attitude essential, the ability to work within a fast paced environment, with excellent time management skills and a dynamic and flexible approach. The ability to work under pressure is also essential.

    • Non-contentious Employment Law issues and handling Employment Tribunal cases that arise from insured clients under their Legal Expenses Insurance Policy.
    • Advice and assistance to companies and associated business within the Group.

     

    This is an OFFICE based role, Monday to Friday.
